STANDISH, ME, June 5, 2025 – State Senator Jim Libby’s gubernatorial campaign today announced the Libby 2026 Maine Honorary Policy Chairs.
These statewide leaders will serve as advisors and work to advance Jim Libby’s plans for
making Maine a better place to work and live as the state’s next governor.
“I am thrilled to have board-level policy assistance from these incredible office-holders from
all over Maine. Combined, they have decades of experience in both the private sector and in
government,” said Senator Libby. The expertise they bring is enormous - labor, human services, natural resources, entrepreneurship, innovation, energy, budget, tax policy, Maine’s
land and forests - this is one powerful lineup of accomplished Maine leaders.”
The Republican candidate's honorary chairs include Rep. Kim Pomerleau, of Standish, who
credited Libby’s consensus-based approach to problem solving and extensive business
background as two of the primary reasons she is supporting him in his bid to become Maine's next governor.
“We need a new direction in Maine government," Pomerleau said. "Jim brings manufacturing
experience at the former GTE-Sylvania plant in Standish to go along with his long career as a college academic dean and economics professor. His expertise in the education landscape
and his understanding of economic development is exactly what Maine needs at this time."
Other honorary chairs include Rep. Mark Blier, of Buxton; Rep. Tom Lavigne, of Berwick; Rep.
Nathan Wadsworth, of Hiram; Sen. Dick Bradstreet, of Vassalboro; Sen. Marianne Moore, of
Calais and Sen. Joe Martin, of Rumford who said Libby understands that economic development must be a top priority for the state.
“Libby will seek to break down barriers to bring economic development back to Maine," said
Martin. "His record demonstrates that he won’t be afraid to seek investment. He knows that
we must reconfigure our energy sector to help establish and grow business in Maine, and he
knows how to do it.”
